Few months after last year’s lockdown was lifted, Prreit Kamal came back to Chandigarh from hometown Delhi to resume shooting for her

. This year in March, at the cusp of the second

wave, Prreit had fortunately wrapped up the schedule for her film. Back home again in Delhi, Prreit says, “I made it home just in time fearing that if there is another lockdown this year, I will be stuck away from my family.”
The actress says once everything started shutting down in

, “It was then that the

of this

second wave

dawned on me and Mohali was eerily quiet at night,” says Prreit who shot for her next film, a comedy opposite Ninja.

With number of films held over for release from last year, Prreit says she, like the entire film fraternity, was hopeful of 2021. “We started shooting another film early this year only because COVID cases were going down and we were optimistic that the pandemic is receding. But, it’s so sad to see how the pandemic is having ravaging effects,” she says.
Another reason why Prreit was excited for this year was that besides comedy, she has also attempted a de-glam look for the first time on screen. “It was a task for me to look de-glam as I was playing a village girl. The DOP would tell me quietly to wipe out the excess blush on my face saying, pind ki ladkiyan itna makeup nahi karti. It was also an insight into how village girls are perceived. They also wanted me gain some weight using the same alibi that girls from rural Punjabi are chubby and that’s how Punjabis like them.”
Like last year’s lockdown, Prreit is back to working out, and working off the weight gained for the role, at her home in Delhi. “I told mom that I’ve had lot of ghee and makhan, so please give me healthy food now,” she adds.
