Hindi film gets into PU

We've heard of Hindi films being filmed at various locales in Chandigarh. Now, we even have an Hollywood, Oscar winner, Zero Dark Thirty, being filmed here. But now the Panjab University too has caught the fancy of filmmakers and the upcoming Yash Raj Film, 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti', has a song shot there exclusively.
Perhaps the reason for shooting the song here lies in the fact that the director, debutant Ashima Chibber, belongs to Chandigarh. Says Ashima, "Having spent a lot of time in Chandigarh, I love the energy and vibe of Panjab University and the geri route. I was very keen to capture that flavour with the youth of this city who have their own unique style and attitude that forms the backdrop to our film."
The song, which is the opening track of the film, also marks the foray for Panjabi MC into Bollywood. Titled, Hayy, it is shot completely inside the University. The film also casts Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty in the lead.
