Here’s WHY Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Jodi’ might NEVER stream on OTT
In a social media post shared by Amberdeep Singh, the filmmaker said that ‘Jodi’ might not be made available on OTT soon, and there are chances that it might not stream on the digital space at all. The reason behind the same is not that the makers are against OTT, rather it is ‘laziness’. Amberdeep mentioned that it involves a lot of paperwork and they might not like to get into the hassle. Also, not many Rhythm Boyz productions are available on OTT; thus, the director said that all those who wish to watch the movie, better catch it on the big screen only.
Diljit Dosanjh and Nimrat Khaira’s ‘Jodi’ was released worldwide on May 5. The film received a great response from the audience and has been able to keep the cash registers ringing at the box office as well. There are various reasons why the film has been able to make a connect with the audience. We have tried to handpick the top 5 from the same, and present to you 5 things that impressed us in ‘Jodi’.
Amberdeep Singh without a doubt is one of the finest writers we have in Pollywood. On the one hand, where his writing can make you burst into laughter, on the other hand, the same writing can make you cry a river. Through ‘Jodi’ Amberdeep has tried to pen the story of almost every artist who starts from scratch with dreams of sky in his eyes, but is let down sometimes by situations and sometimes by the people he trusts the most.
Besides writing the film, Amberdeep also directed the movie. And if there’s anything that has surpassed his writing, it is his execution of the subject. The movie starts on a laughter note, and despite various ups and downs faced by the main character, the film continues to ensure that a smile is maintained throughout the cinematic experience. However, this is not the only emotion that Amberdeep expressed through his craftsmanship. One will witness the innocence of a pure heart, the determination of a strong will, and the pain of a tragic end.
It goes without saying that both Diljit Dosanjh and Nimrat Khaira who are the lead actors of the film have given splendid performances in the film. Diljit was able to fit the bill of Amar Sitara to the t. He demonstrated his hunger for music, his dream to be an eminent personality, and his stubbornness in pursuing his art without any flaws. Similarly, Nimrat Khaira also shined out in her part. But that is not it, the child artist who essayed the role of young Amar Sitara, Mintu Kappa who played the role of Nimrat’s brother, and all other stars who featured in various pivotal roles were highly convincing in their parts.
This is the first time that Diljit Dosanjh and Nimrat Khaira were seen working together on the big screen. Though the audience did see them together in the song ‘What Ve’, that was just a mere glimpse of what these two stars had to offer in the film. Their bond, their understanding, their chemistry, everything was on point. They simply complimented each other on the 70 mm.
Each and every song of the film reaches straight to the heart. Be it the peppy ones Sitara and Kamal sing on the stage, the emotional one that runs in the backdrop, or the spiritual one which changes the course for the lead actors in the movie; every song leaves an impact on the audience. Not just this, even the background score of the movie is so finely crafted that it adds to the entire cinematic experience.
