Diljit Dosanjh is highly lauded for his comic timing and light-hearted rom-com. However, we are starting the list of his top movies by mentioning a serious period drama titled ‘Punjab 1984’. Based on the riots of 1984, the movie is one of the Punjabi classics. Diljit played the character of Shiva who portrayed how the youth was affected by the social disturbance and what all consequences everyone had to bear. The movie left the audience with teary eyes.

Talking of the serious movies that Diljit Dosanjh did, how can we forget about his Bollywood debut - ‘Udta Punjab’. Whenever we see a Sardar character in a movie, we expect some comedy from him. This is one of the stereotypes that turbanators face. However, Diljit broke the same stereotype when he did his debut Hindi movie. The film highlighted the serious issue of drug abuse in Punjab. Diljit’s journey in the movie begins as a corrupt police officer, then we see him as a concerned elder brother and later he dons the hat of the protagonist making the wrongs right.

Both ‘Jatt & Juliet’ and it’s sequel are among the highly loved Punjabi movies of Diljit Dosanjh. Featuring the classic duo of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, the movies are from the genre rom-coms that got the audience hooked in no time. The concept of the movies is the same, it starts with the boy and the girl literally testing each others’ nerves, then they turn friends, eventually, fall in love, but just before they can confess their feelings, there comes a twist, and the two part their ways. However, the movie doesn’t end without the boy and girl finally meeting again after all the chaos.

Since we talked about the dynamic duo of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, how can we not mention their last movie together - ‘Shadaa’. Released in 2019, it is another rom-com, with the same concept as mentioned above. However, in the movie, the character of Diljit Dosanjh stands out the most. In the movie, Diljit can be seen narrating the pros of being a bachelor in his witty and quirky ways, and it is something that was most enjoyed by the audience.

Last but not least, Diljit Dosanjh’s 2019 released Hindi movie ‘Good Newwz’ is certainly one of his best performances. Packed with comedy, confusion and chaos, the movie featured the true comic side of Diljit.
