Gurdas Maan honoured with doctorate

Leading Punjabi singer and actor Gurdas Maan has now become Dr. Gurdas Maan!
Adding another to his long list of decorations awarded to him in recognition of his contribution towards Punjabi music, Maan has been granted the degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) for his contribution towards music and Punjabi cinema by Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab.He was awarded the honour today at the 36th Convocation of the University.
���������I am very touched by this award. And none other deserve as much appreciation for my award as the people of Punjab who have always supported my work with love and respect,��������� said an emotional Maan whose career now spans over 25 years covering 30 music albums and 200 songs.
