Exclusive! The makers of ‘Qismat’ sued for fraud

Two cases - a civil suit and a criminal suit, have been filed against the makers of ‘Qismat’, Shri Narotam Ji Films Production in Chandigarh, and Delhi respectively, by The Big Bash Producers. The cases have been filed to restrain the making of the movie ‘Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Giya’ starring Gurnam Bhullar and Sargun Mehta, as the plaintiff has accused the defendants of not returning their investment, said a source close to the movie.
“Shri Narotam Ji gave post-dated cheques to Big Bash, but they were bounced. They also over-quoted the cost of production to Big Bash. Thus, the suit has been filed to put a stop of the further shoot and release of the movie,” quoted the source.
According to the source, the first hearing has been done, where the lawyer of Mansi Singh and Apoorv Ghai from Big Bash presented the case, and now the court has summoned Ankit Vijan and Navdeep Narula from Shri Narotam Ji Films Production for the second hearing.
