Kartar Cheema’s last outing was the 2019 released ‘
Sikandar
2’. The movie came out in August and then after a good 6 months the Punjabi actor announced his next project ‘Defaulter’. This made everyone wonder what made Kartar wait so long, and in an exclusive conversation with ETimes, the actor spilled beans on the same.
The ‘Sikandar 2’ fame actor said “First I didn’t like any subject, and when I liked the subject then I didn’t like the team. Moreover, when you give a hit movie, there comes a responsibility on your shoulders that your next project should also be something on the same grounds that garners the appreciation of the audience. You need to live up to the tag that they gave you. Also with ‘Sikandar 2’ we gave out a message that the youth should not fall prey to drugs or gangster culture, and after ‘Sikandar’ I didn’t find any such subject.”.
Further, he added why he chose ‘Defaulter’. He said, “After a very long time I got the project ‘Defaulter’. Firstly, the title is so catchy; also though I can’t reveal the story, the movie is based on a cause. It talks about boys, girls, family, society and moreover it has the entertainment factor. Thus, I signed the movie.”

and Ranjiv Singla. The makers haven’t announced the exact release date, but the movie is expected to hit the silver screen this year itself.
