#BossBabesOfPollywood: Himanshi Khurana on body positivity - Imperfections are beautiful - Exclusive

Hello to everyone, and welcome to ETimes latest series - #BossBabesOfPollywood, wherein we connect with the leading ladies of the Punjabi cine and music world and bring forth their take on issues of social concern. In this first chapter of our #BossBabesOfPollywood series, we connected are going to share with you the views of Punjab’s one of the most renowned, actor-singer-model - Himanshi Khurana on the subject of ‘Body Positivity’.

“Firstly it is very unfortunate that we have to talk about terms like body positivity because I feel that God has created each and every individual in different shapes and sizes that is what makes all of us beautiful. In fact, it makes us uniquely beautiful. If all of us would have been slim or fat it would seem very weird. So everyone is different in shape and size and that is what makes us beautiful in our own unique way. At the end of the day I feel that it's our body and only we have the right to judge.

“I believe imperfections are beautiful, and there is nothing perfect in this world. Even we actors, we stay in limelight people think how are we so perfect, we have clear skin, we are always well dressed and all of that stuff. In reality, we are the ones who are imperfect but it's just that we tend to not show it. But everyone is imperfect in their own ways. So coming back to the topic, everyone should be able to accept themselves the way they are.”

“As I always said trolling does not require brains. You can just randomly sit in your comfort zone and write anything bash or blabber anything about celebrities. Having said that the celebrities do not even sometimes know about your existence and you are just the random page. And all the people who comment bad things, they usually do that from their fake pages. They don’t even have the guts to come up and show their actual faces and say stuff on their face."

“And I personally believe that people who indulge in body shaming are the ones who actually don’t have any integrity in their lives. They themselves are so frustrated, mentally frustrated that they don’t actually think that the other person can mentally get affected and they are the same people who put up stories saying “oh mental health is so important, we should not harass each other mentally, etc”. This is all stupidity and this is the highest form of hypocrisy. You are someone who is double-faced and has two different faces for that matter.”
