Gippy Grewal is one of the actors and filmmakers who is known to offer content based cinema. Once during an exclusive conversation with ETimes, he said that the reason to why he directs or shows keen interest in directing movies that have content as the base, is because he wants to establish a different image of him as a director. He added that as an actor audience has seen more of his comic side and thus, as a director he wants them to see a different shade.

‘Ardaas Karaan’ has turned up as one of the highest grossing Punjabi movies of 2019. Based on the worth of life and relationships, the movie was released in July as in still garnering love.
