Mumbai-based storytelling festival to highlight Kerala’s heritage and culture

An international storytelling festival titled which will commence on October 18, is all set for its second season. Organised by Mumbai Storytellers Society and a Mumbai-based private university, the three-day event will be held inside the university campus. The theme for this year is
The festival was conceived as a celebration of heritage through the art of storytelling, and to explore its myriad forms. The idea was to make a commitment towards keeping the timeless tradition alive. Every year, the festival provides a platform for storytellers from diverse local, national and international backgrounds. This year’s edition celebrates the state of Kerala, and its rich heritage, culture, and traditional dance forms.
Talking about the fest, Amrita Somaiya, festival chief of Gaatha Mumbai International Storytelling Festival says, “Stories and storytelling are the threads that weave the cultural fabric of a nation. Following the success of its first edition last year at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, we are back this year with a new theme for attendees to believe in the transformative power of storytelling.”
Usha Venkatraman, festival director, adds to the excitement saying, “This October, join us for the second edition of , one of India’s largest and most anticipated storytelling festivals. It promises to be a highlight of Mumbai’s festival season.”
