There are certain stories that retain their beauty, just like Marathi play ‘Arturo Ui Cha Uday’ that was performed recently in Pune. Every time the play has been staged, it has got an amazing response from the audience. Here are the reasons to watch it:
Over the years, the play has retained its inherent simplicity and beauty and yet it remains relevant to the audience.
Presented by Natakwale Pune, this Marathi adaptation of German play ‘The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui’ is a brilliant piece penned by Bertolt Brecht.
The play chronicles the rise of Arturo Ui, a fictional 1930s Chicago mobster and his attempts to control the cauliflower racket by ruthlessly disposing of the opposition.
It is a satirical allegory based on the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Germany prior to World War II.
Through its narration, the play also talks about fascism or totalitarianism.
Recently some professors from Austria, Germany, watched the play in Pune and they fell in love with it.
