Female characters need grace: Dr Oak

Renowned Marathi actor Dr Girish oak recently played a female character for the first time in a play ‘Kahaani Mei Twist' and stressed that utmost care needs to adopted while doing so.
Expressing his opinion, the actor said, “A male playing a female character can appear ugly and grotesque at times. Thus, you have to ensure that the grace and dignity of the role is maintained.Getting acquainted with the attire is another challenging aspect.”
"Over the years, female characters have been portrayed by males but they have been done in a rather funny and ugly manner. Therefore, as an actor it's your responsibility to taken care that this does not happen," he went on to add.
Having appeared in various roles in many films over the years, Dr Oak will next be seen playing a main character in the upcoming Swwapnil Joshi and Sai Tamhankar starrer 'Tu Hi Re.'
