Marathi play '

Don special

' was recently staged at The National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, and it got an overwhelming response from the viewers.

With versatile actors like Girija Oak and Jitendra Joshi playing lead roles in this play directed by Kshitij Patwardhan, each and every aspect of the play was appreciated by the audience, including the sound and light effect.

The play is based on a story titled 'News Story' by H.M. Marathe, and is set in 1989, before the age of the Internet and the era of 'breaking news'.

The time lag between the clatter of the fax from the news agency and converting it into a headline often made all the difference and this was beautifully depicted in Kshitij's deft direction, and was appreciated by all those who watched it.
