Deepti Lele shares experience of performing a play post lockdown

'Haravlelya Pattyancha Bangala'.
Post lockdown, the play resumed shows recently and the first show of play 'Haravlelya Pattyancha Bangala' was held at Mahad.
"All of us were excited about the first show post lockdown which was planned at Maha Since it was decided, we all were eagerly waiting for the

performance

eagerly. We did all the preparations and virtual rehearsal like it was a new beginning. On back of the mind we were sceptical and thinking whether the audience will turn up for the show or not. But what happened at the show was overwhelming for all theatre fraternity,``says Deepti.
The first show was organised at 9.30 pm. "And suddenly the power cut plunged the entire Mahad in dark. The organizers then somehow arranged the generator which was sufficient to run the stage lights and mic only. There was no air-conditioning. But the audience was calm and not only enjoying the show but also responding very well. This is the positive thing about our theatre industry which keeps us glued to it. I hope we will get such a positive response in future too," Deepti adds.
The play is a story of three generations and features veteran actor Vandana Gupte and Pratiksha Lonkar among others. The play has completed 50 shows before lockdown. Interestingly Vandana Gupte has recently completed 50 years of her acting career.
