The film, produced, directed and penned by debutant Makarand Mane, tells the tale of a bond shared by a father and son as they visit Pandharpur. The film stars Shashank Shende and Sahil Joshi as father Arjun and son Abhimanyu, respectively

Ringan was adjudged as the Best Feature Film in Marathi for the year 2015 at the 63rd National Film Awards citing; “A heart rending survival story of a father-son duo, who decide to fight and live rather than end their lives.” It also went on to win Best Film, Best Director, Best Debut (Director), Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Child Actor in 53rd Maharashtra state awards last year.

Ringan has also received heaps of praise in film festivals across the globe, which includes Cannes Short Film Corner, and London Indian Film Festival. Mane was awarded with The Director’s Vision Award at the 14th Stuttgart Indian Film Festival in 2015.

Despite winning several awards, the film was not released in India because it could not find a distributor for so long. Seems like Ringan has finally found a distributor ans is all set to release on June 30.
