Pooja Sawant shines at Edinburgh Film Festival
Pooja Sawant is in news again, and all for good reasons. The actress recently received ‘The Golden Calton award’ for Best Performance in a Lead Role for her film Lapachapi at Edinburgh film festival. Directed by Vishal Furia, 'Lapachhapi' is produced by Jitendra Patil and Aroona Bhat. This film also stars Vikram Gaikwad, Usha Naik and Anil Gawas. The film revolves around the young couple based in the heartland of India, who move into a house in a sugarcane field, unaware of any supernatural presence.

The film is unique blend of horror and social drama.
Expressing her excitement, the actress tweeted, “Feeling happy to announce that I won the ‘The Golden Calton award’ for Best Performance in a Lead Role for Lapachapi at Edinburgh film festival. This would have been really difficult without you @FuriaVishal and my entire team of @FilmLapaChhapi.”
Besides, this, another Marathi film Kachcha Limbu too won The Golden Calton award in the Best Film category. We hope many more Marathi films get recognized at the international fests in the coming year.
