Indian classical singer
Rahul Deshpande is also known for featuring in few Sangeet Natak. He recently wrapped up the shows of his musical drama, Sangeet Saubhadra.
Written by Annasaheb Kirloskar, it was performed for the first time in 1882, in Pune. Then, it was revived by Rahul Deshpande and directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari. Known for its songs, the play has 88 songs in the original.
However, the number was reduced in the new version, which also featured
Anand Bhate, Shriran Bhave, Asmita Chinchwalkar, Vaibhavi Jogalekar and Chinmay Pataskar. The last show was recently organised at Bellandur, Bengaluru.
