With five songs, mostly romantic ones, Ashi Hi Aashiqui’s album is high on music. All the songs have been composed by Sachin Pilgaonkar, who has also directed the film. Sonu Nigam is the male protagonist’s voice throughout.

He sings the first song on our list, Rakamma. While the singer is sincere and gets into the rhythm as soon as the song begins, the composition itself lacks novelty as it banks almost entirely on dhol-taasha beats.

For the next track, the peppy and romantic Teri meri meri teri aashiqui, Sonu teams with

Priyanka Barve

. A better track compared to the earlier one, this song, which also doubles up as the film’s title track, manages to get your feet tapping.

Kalalay mala, the following song, keeps the feeling of love going. Sung by Sonu and

Janhavi Prabhu Arora

, the song has quirky lyrics and is an up-tempo composition that hits the right notes.

Next up is the Lori song by Sonu. Usually, a lori (lullaby) works without or minimal music. However, here, this song also gets a romantic makeover, thus taking away from its originality. In fact, the composition also reminds you of the tune of one of Sachin’s Hindi outings, Ankhiyon ke jharokhon se.

The last song of the album, an a capella with vocals from Sonu and Shanmukhpriya, is one of the good tracks of this playlist. A special mention to the a capella arrangements by Voctronica.

To sum up, Ashi Hi Aashiqui’s album has variety in terms of music, but somewhere, the influence of 90s

Bollywood

songs surfaces. Not one to be played on loop for sure, but a couple of songs stand out in this one.
