received a rousing welcome from the city's

dhol

pathaks, as well as hundreds of fans recently. The duo was in town for a dhol puja ceremony organised by the Yuva Vadya Pathak and Vandemantaram Sanghatana, along with city-based dhol pathaks Shivsamrajya and Shivvardhan, ahead of Ganesha Chathurthi. They were greeted there by chants of Mauli Mauli from the audience, as well as a dhol performance by the pathaks.

"It was an overwhelming welcome in our hometown. The performance by the dhol pathaks made us nostalgic," said Ajay Gogawale, who moved to Mumbai a while back. The musicians then joined the dhol pathaks in paying respect to their instruments before performing the puja.

Atul also spoke about the restrictions placed on dhol pathaks in the city, due to complaints of noise pullution. "Dhol pathaks should practice using their hands, and only use the sticks during the procession. This will reduce the noise and practice will also become easier," he said.
