Guru Thakur’s poem focuses on claustrophobic city life

Lyricist Guru Thakur’s recent

poem

Pinjaraa

has an interesting take on urban life. He compares city life with that of a bird stuck in a cage. The contemporary Marathi poet has beautifully put forth through his words, how the cities are growing making you choke. 'In our quest towards growth, we have been losing the ability to freely experience nature', his poem states.

He also goes on to say, although the city makes you feel claustrophobic, there is no option but carry on with your life here. For it is this cage which provides you the livelihood.

We may know him for his word prowess, but the artist also has another side to him. A couple of months ago, he has posted pictures of some of his water colour paintings, where a young woman's face is showcased , with different expressions on her face. The iconic lyricist has given us many hits from movies like

Natarang

,

Aga Bai Arechya

and since then has not looked back.
