Mukta Barve's films you should not miss

Renowned Marathi actress Mukta Barve, who had a great love for drama and acting right since her childhood, earned a Bachelor’s degree in drama. Starting with stage and television, Mukta forayed into Marathi films with 'Chakwa', which did well at the box-office. She has been lauded by all for her versatility. 'Jogwa'

Rajiv Patil's film 'Jogwa' is based on two characters- a determined girl called Suli and a bellicose man called Tayappa. Both of them are compelled by their families to devote their lives in service of Goddess Yellamma. Initially, both of them accept their fates, but soon, a revolt develops within them against the custom.'Jogwa' depicts this disorder which firstly Suli’s family goes through, who come under the superstition over Suli’s hair knots. Mukta as Suli has delievered an amazing performance. The story depicts how the general public is thus made to believe the tailored truth and they have to blindly follow it or face the consequences from both the family and the society at large.

'Double Seat'

The journey of a newly-married couple that nurtures a dream and works hard to turn it into reality is what forms the crux of 'Double Seat'. Sameer Vidwans has bought up a story of any commoner’s life; a commoner who harbours dreams of a better life. In this case, the story unfolds through the journey of Amit (Chaudhary) and Manjiri Naik (Barve), a couple that lives in a small home with Amit’s parents and brother. More than the story, it's the characters that catch your attention. The credit goes to the actors, each an established one, for keeping it as real as they possibly could.

'Hrudayantar'

'Hrudayantar' is an emotional drama that explores the marital crisis of a couple (Shekhar & Samaira) married for over 12 years in Vikram Phadnis' directorial debut. It tells an engaging and emotional journey of a family who keep aside their differences in the event of a terminal disease of the youngest member. The film stars Mukta Barve, Subodh Bhave, Trushnika Shinde, Nishtha Vaidya and Sonali Khare with cameos by Shiamak Davar, Manish Paul and Hrithik Roshan. The actors have done complete justice to the film.

'Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai'

'Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai' a Satish Rajwade directorial starring Swwapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve as a couple who are almost poles apart but yet fall for eachother. Their arguments over Pune and Mumbai’s pride are entertaining. This light-hearted entertainer fared successfully at the box office.

'Aamhi Doghi'

'Aamhi Doghi' by Pratima Joshi starred Mukta Barve, Priya Bapat and Bhushan Pradhan. The film explores the beautiful relationship between two women. Female bonding and female friendships are trending subjects in Bollywood these days. On the similar lines, 'Amhi Doghi' showcases the story of two ladies. The feminist storyline and the performances won many hearts.
