Ashok Saraf, who is well known for his stellar performances in Marathi and Hindi films, has been selected for Maharashtra Bhushan Award 2023.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced his name. The actor will be honoured for his immense contribution to the field of art.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took to his Twitter handle and announced Ashok Saraf as the recipient of the Maharashtra Bhushan Award 2023. He wrote, “Chief Minister announced to giving 2023 Varshacha Maharashtra Bhushan Award to senior Marathi film and theatre actor Ashok Saraf for his immense contribution in the field of art. Ashok Saraf is not only humorous but has shown various shades from serious nature to villainous tendencies through his acting,".
Soon after the news went viral, Marathi celebrities including Prasad Oak, Swapnil Joshi, Sayali Sanjeev and others congratulated Marathi comedy king while sending him best wishes.
Ashok Saraf has worked on several Marathi films like, ‘Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi’, 'Karan Arjun', 'Bazigar'‘ Aflatoon’, Gharat Gharoba’, ‘Hamare Sarkhe Amhich’, ‘Navri Meete Navryala’, ‘Ganmat Jammat’, and ‘Bhutacha Bhau’.
