Two Marathi actresses booked in extortion case by the Pune police

In September last year, the Pune police had booked actor Subhash Yadav for allegedly sexually harassing a 23-year-old actress after the latter filed a complaint against him. Following that, Subhash filed a complaint alleging extortion and defamation against four persons, including actresses

and Rohini Mane, police sub-inspector Amol Tekale and another person named Ram Jagdale.

As per a recent development in the case, the Sahakarnagar police station has booked the four persons in the matter. Gajanan Pawar (Crime Branch), the investigating officer, shared, “After the complaint by Subhash Yadav, we have booked four people, including two Marathi actresses Rohini Mane and Sara Shrawan. According to the complaint, last year Rohini Mane lodged a false complaint against Subhash. Under the pretext of settlement of the case, the complainant called Subhash at a place and demanded money from him in return of withdrawing the complaint. The also threatened to damage his family’s reputation if he didn’t apologize to them. Subhash paid an amount of `1 lakh and refused to pay any more amount. Following this, the accused made some videos of Subhash with the intent of damaging his image. Based on a complaint filed, we have booked both actresses and Ram Jagdale and Amol Tekale under various sections of the

Indian Penal Code

The accused have been booked under IPC sections 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 500 (punishment for defamation).

Subhash had worked with the Rohini in the movie

. According to Subhash, Rohini was hurt that he got all the attention during the publicity of the film. “She shot my dance video and started spreading it in a wrong context. After that, I lodged a case with the Wanowrie police. During the case procedure, Rohini lodge a molestation saying I molested her in the police station premises. To settle that, she also approached me and wrongfully restrained me at a place. This was followed by threats from her and another person. To save my family from all this, I agreed to their demands. But they shot a video of it and made it viral with the help of Sara Shrawan,” claimed Subhash.

The police have also arrested Ram Jagdale and another team was on way to arrest Rohini from Mumbai, as we went to press.
