These Marathi films and short films set to shine at IFFI

The 51th edition of

International Film Festival

of India (

IFFI

) kicked off recently. This year, the festival will have six Marathi films including three short films in Indian Panorama section.

On Tuesday, Vaibhav Khisti and Suhrud Godbole’s directorial 'June' was screened at the festival and cast

Nehha Pendse

and Siddharth Menon also marked the attendance for the screening in Goa. Apart from June, movie '

Karkhanisanchi Waari

' helmed by director Mangesh Joshi and movie 'Pravas' directed by Shashank Udpurkar are also part of IFFI this year. The movie 'Karkhanisanchi Waari' recently had world premiere at Tokyo International Film Festival 2020. The movie features Amey Wagh, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Mohan Agashe, Vandana Gupte and Shubhangi Gokhale among others.

Three non-feature films which have made its way to Indian Panorama section of the IFFI are 'Khisa', directed by Preetam More, '

Pandhara Chivada

' helmed by director Himanshu Singh and 'Still Alive' directed by Onkar Diwadkar. 'Still Alive' was screened at the festival on Tuesday morning.

Movie 'Pandhara Chivada' produced and written by Milind Damale features actor Sai Singh, Ruchita Bhujbal, Dyanratna Ahiwale and Nachiket among others. Sharing happiness about the entry in reputed film festival, actor Sai says, "I am happy that our movie Pandhara Chiavada is being featured in IFFI. This is film made by former students of Film and Television of India (FTII). The film has already featured in various film festival but its proud moment to be part of the IFFI."

This year, most of the reputed film festivals - film fests at Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice, among others - were either postponed, organised online or were presented in hybrid format due to the coronavirus. IFFI is also being organised in a hybrid format.
