Swwapnil Joshi made his
Marathi cinema debut
with
Kanchan Adhikari's 'Manini' in 2004. Over the years, his rise has been steady, thanks to impeccable performances in movies like 'Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai', 'Duniyadari' 'Mitwaa' among others.
In his 17 year run in Marathi cinema, Swwpanil Joshi opened up on the challenges of his profession and his stardom in the recent interaction with Filmfare.

Joshi said "To all humbleness, I want to tell and I genuinely feel that the word '
Superstar
' is fading out. Actors like
Shah Rukh Khan,
Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Ji, are the last of the superstars. I think it's the age and time of the actors. There is no regional cinema anymore. There is no art cinema anymore. There is only a good cinema and bad cinema"
"I always tell people that don't call me a superstar. Rajinikanth sir is the superstar, Amitabh Ji, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan is a superstar. We are just actors trying to do a bit. I think what matters to me and what I genuinely feel the challenge is to be relevant. Because when I started my career there was only one TV channel and films were a big thing. So, I genuinely feel that being relevant is very important. Swwapnil added.
