Exclusive! Sonali Kulkarni: I would love to play Gayatri Joshi's character from Shah Rukh Khan's 'Swades'

Bollywood's superstar Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 55th birthday this week in Dubai with his family and friends. On this special occasion, we got in touch with Marathi and Bollywood's popular actress Sonali Kulkarni, who expressed her wish to work with Bollywood's 'Baadshah'.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Sonali has shared her favourite memories of meeting SRK, what makes him stand out from the others, and more.Excerpts…
What is your favourite SRK film?
My favourite SRK film is 'Swades'. But I also love watching his old films like 'Darr', 'Baazigar', and his comedy films as well.
If you had a chance to work with him in one of his films which would it be and why?
I think that film would be 'Swades'. I liked Gayatri Joshi's character so much. She had played Gita's character beautifully. She looked so elegant and she had portrayed her part brilliantly. If given a choice, I would love to play Gayatri Joshi's character.
What is that one quality in SRK that makes him stand out from others?
He is extremely charming, gracious and very warm. I really hope that I get to work with him sometime. He is such a passionate person and I think he makes a fantastic co-star. He is a star who always cares for his co-star even on-screen.
Your favourite memory of meeting him
We havn't actully interacted on a particular project. But is a heartwarming fact that whenever he meets me, he has that warmth and graciousness to acknoweldge me with my name. It makes you feel special the way he attends you.
One message you would like to give him on his birthday this year.
I want to wish him great health beacuse I know he is fighting couple of injuries. Apart from good health, I think all this all fans are waiting to see him again on the screen. He desrves every bit of break he has taken in last couple of months. He will always have my best wishes and prayers.
