had already a created waves in social media when recently makers of the film announced the title of the film and hit the mahurat shot in the presence of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of Cultural Affairs Vinod Tawade and Other dignitaries. The identity of lead star cast was under the wrap and recently while speaking to Etimes, Marathi cinema's popular actor-producer, Sandeep Kulkarni revealed that he will be portraying the role of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule along with Bollywood actress, Rajshri Deshpande as

In a recent interview with ETimes, Sandeep Kulkarni said, "I am very excited for my upcoming biopic of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule which is titled as 'Satyashodhak'. It is based on the life of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, who has worked intensively for the eradication of untouchability and the caste system, and women's emancipation. We went through a lot of research and hard work to bring his struggle on a big screen. In the film, Rajshri Deshpande is playing the role of Savitribai Phule, which is again a very important role and she is very talented. She is also a social worker and I would say, she has done a commendable job with her performance"

"The 50 per cent of shoot from the film has been completed and we are looking forward to releasing date of the film" Sandeep added.

Nilesh Jalamkar's directorial 'Satyashodhak' is produced under the banner Samta Films and Kathakar Entertainment. The film is slated to release soon.
