Today, on the occasion of Ashok Saraf's birthday, we got in touch with Marathi cinema's popular actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar, who opened up about his friendship with Saraf and also revealed some unknown facts about the

evergreen star

.

said "I know Ashok Saraf for ages. He is one of my closest friend. But, he was very close to my father. My father always considered Saraf as his elder son and me as his youngest son. After the demise of my father, he took up a role as my elder brother and our journey started. Ever since we are together and he was part of almost all the films"

He further adds "It's been a kind of an honour to be associated with him. I also got a lot to learn from him. He is a very

strict person

as far as his work is concerned. And there is a lot of discipline is involved in his way of working. One must graph this discipline because it will give you good results"

Elaborating more on the same, he added, "Saraf is not a talkative person. You see Ashok Saraf on-screen and You see Ashok Saraf off-screen, he is completely different. He is a person who would never go reach across and say hello to anybody. His nature is not friendly at all. But at the same time, if somebody comes close to him and be friendly with him, then he gets quite involved. But you aspect him to take the initiative then that is not possible"
