S Durga's Rajshri Deshpande to make Marathi debut

', actress Rajshri Deshpande is soon going to feature in a movie in her mother tongue- Marathi.

Satyashodhak

' which revolves around the life of social reformer

. While actor Sandeep Kulkarni plays the lead role, Rajshri plays the role of

Savitribai Phule

in the film directed by

Nilesh Jalamkar

Speaking about the same to us, Rajshri said, "I am doing a Marathi film titled Satyashodhak which is based on the life of Mahatma Phule. Sandeep Kulkarni plays Mahatma Phule and I am doing the role of Savitribai Phule. The film is 90 per cent complete and we hope it releases soon. I want to work with a lot of people from the Marathi industry. It’s a different market altogether with so many talented people."

The actress is also awaiting the release of the Hindi film Manto, based on the life of writer Sadat Hasan Manto. She will be sharing the screen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the Nandita Das directorial. "I play Ismat Chugtai in the film. I am very glad to have worked with Nawaz. He challenges you as an actor. I would also love to do a full-fledged feature with him," she says.
