Rutuja

Bagwe recently took to her social media account to share that her father Rajan

Bagwe

(65) had tested positive for COVID-19, two

weeks

ago. The actress added that he has fully recovered now. While her 'baba' was in hospital for the treatment, other family members including Rutuja were in quarantine at home.

Quite happy about her father's recovery, Rutuja says, "My father used to step out only to buy essentials. Thankfully, we understood the symptoms quite early and got the test done. We too had mild symptoms so as per our doctor's advice we went into self-isolation immediately. Even though we have a good immune system as we all exercise daily and practise yoga, we were quite worried for his health."

Rutuja adds that the last two weeks were quite stressful for the entire family but tried to stay connected with one another. "While baba was in the hospital, even at home, we couldn't meet one another. I used to cook for everyone. However, I used to check everyone's temperature every day. In fact, we used to speak with baba via video calls and update on our health status. He used to do yoga and meditation in the hospital. He has been discharged from the hospital but staying in isolation at home for a few more days."

On the work front, Rutuja plays the titular role in Marathi play 'Ananya', which is written and directed by Pratap Phad. She has earned many accolades for her performance. “Before the lockdown came into force, I had focused all my energies in this play. As there is still time for the theatres to open, I’m patiently waiting and spending time at home,” she says. Hruta Durgule is playing Rutuja’s part in the film adaption of this play with the same name. The movie is helmed by Pratap and Ravi Jadhav is backing the project.
