Sound designer, mixer and editor,
Resul Pookutty is known for working his magic on some iconic films, including the Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Speaking about composing music for Marathi films, the maestro says it is very different from Bollywood films.
Resul made his debut in the Marathi industry with the film, 'A Rainy Day' and is now a part of another film 'Ek Sangaychay: Unsaid Harmony' that stars
Kay Kay Menon and
Rajeshwari Sachdev in lead roles. While commenting on the Marathi film genre, he said, "Marathi cinema has its own identity. I have been staying in Maharashtra for a long time, and now this language is part of my life. For every line of the script, music has plays an important role and it's not easy as compared to Bollywood movies."
While speaking on the film 'Ek Sangaychay', he said, “I met director Lokesh several times to discuss the background sound and music. When I heard the script from Lokesh, I was mesmerized with the content of the film. The story seems to be simple, but Lokesh's direction and his lead stars Kay Kay Menon and Rajeshwari Sachdev's performances are unbelievable. I have done several films with Menon but this was something different. We are still working on the production and it's not as easy as it was with Bollywood films."
Lokesh Vijay Gupte's 'Ek Sangaychay: Unsaid Harmony', is based on the theme of a parent-child relationship and is slated to release on 16 November.
