Replacements in M-town

M-town is caught in a web over creative differences and ego tussles. Actors and filmmakers are being dropped and replaced, TOI finds
Replacements in M-town
It came as a complete surprise in M-town when starlet Siya Patil replaced Sayali Bhagat in the item number Kon Marun Neil Dalla in Ghulam Begum Badshah.
When contacted, director Rajiv Firke confirmed the news saying, Sayali met with an accident just when we were going to shoot. And producers were not willing to wait as a lot of money was spent on the lavish sets.

Besides, Sayali wasnt too sure when she would be fit to do the shoot. So we had to replace her and it was done with her consent. But we are quite satisfied with Siya. Siya, who has films like Chirgut, Dhoom 2 Dhamaal, Mohan Awatey and Navra Avli Baiko Lovely to her credit, said: I was destined to do the song. The song is really amazing and I am sure it is going to be a big hit.
Replacement these days seems to have become a regular part of M-town. When Nitin Chandrakant Desai approached national award winning filmmaker Rajiv Patil to direct Ajintha, it was big news. But due to creative differences, the producer-director parted ways. Confirming the news, Rajiv Patil said, We had some creative differences. There are a few things which I cannot compromise with. However, sources said that Rajiv was upset because he was not being given due credit for the film. Also it is believed that Rajiv was not very positive about Sonalee Kulkarni playing the lead. Later, Nitin Chandrakant Desai took charge of directing the film.
High Command, which released in April, also faced several glitches during the shoot. Initially, the makers of the film had decided to cast Sandeep Kulkarni, Upendra Limaye and Sachin Khedekar. However, things did not go as planned and Sharad Ponkshe and Sunil Barve were finally roped in for this political drama. Sources also informed that the film was initially supposed to be directed by Pitambar Kale, but was finally directed by Yashwant Bhalkar. Yashwant Bhalkar said, It is important to cast actors who do not have starry airs while working in a film. He further revealed: We had approached Aditi Sarangdhar for a role and she had agreed. When contacted for further discussions, she said she had met with an accident. However, we found out that she had lied so we decided to drop her. She was replaced by Ashwini Ekbote. Nowadays artists dont respect the directors and work. They want to do several projects at a time for money thereby delaying projects.
THE GAME CHANGERS
Devashappth Khare Saangen: Suryakant Mandhale was playing the lead but on the third day of the shoot he met with an accident while riding a horse. Later actor Madhukar Toradmal replaced him.
Tambdi Mati: Jayashree Gadkar who was roped in for the lead reached late on the sets. She was asked to leave was replaced by Anupama.
Mayechi Savli: Varsha Usgaonkar was to do a role in the film. The producer and the actress had some issues with the costumes and dates and finally Ashwini Bhave did the role.
