Noted Marathi film director Rajiv Patil, who died in Mumbai yesterday following a cardiac arrest, was cremated today. The mortal remains of Patil, who hailed from Nashik, were consigned to flames in the presence of several artists from the Marathi film industry, his relatives and friends this afternoon.
Patil's brother and daughter Ira lit the funeral pyre.

Ajay-Atul, Nashik mayor Yatin Wagh, artist Deepak Karanjikar, relatives, friends were present.
The director was known for films like 'Jogwa', which won the 2009 national award,
'Pangira', 'Savarkhed Ek Gaon', 'Vanshvel' and
'Sanai-Chaughade'. '72 mail: Ek Pravas' was his recent release.
Patil had taken his education from J S Rungtha High School here and later got his engineering diploma from Pravara Nagar in Ahmednagar district, family sources said.
