Bringing into spotlight the serious issue of farmers suicide, Ringan directed by Makarand Mane, has bagged the National Award for Best Marathi film. Absolutely ecstatic with the win, lead actor
Shashank Shende confesses: The feeling is yet to sink in. Ringan was pitted against films like Katyar Kaljat Ghusli which has not only done well at the box office but has been critically acclaimed as well.
It feels great that our efforts got recognised on a national platform. Our entire team is in a jubilant mode now. He adds, The film veers around the plight of farmers. While farmers suicides are a reality today and a grave issue, our film has a happy ending and a positive message. The characters in the film fight against all odds and thats what must have touched the jury.
