Our Diwali parties are all about gupshup and good food: Priya Bapat

Ahead of Diwali, all celebrities are preparing for the festival of light. Here is peek into Priya Bapat’s way of celebration Diwali. “I try not to work during Diwali, but this year I don’t think that’s possible. However, my close friends and I have lately started hosting. Diwali parties and it’s now my favourite part of the festival. Last year, it was held at Umesh and my home.

This year, one of my friends — who is not from the industry — will be hosting one at their place. At these parties, all of us friends, who have known each other for 20 years, come together and bond over gupshup and good food. Also, we don’t burn crackers at all. I haven’t burst any since the seventh standard, and Umesh doesn’t like it either.

Besides, it’s high time we start caring for our environment. Diwali is all about coming together to spread happiness, and not adding to the pollution levels. Coming to the food part of it, since I won’t have enough time this year, I’ll just be making besan laddoos. However, nothing can match the taste and texture of my mom ke haath ka ladoos and falahar. So, these are the little joys I am looking forward to this Diwali.”
