After being seen in forgettable Hindi films like 'David' and 'Jodi Breakers', model-actor-filmmaker Milind Soman will now be seen as a king in a forthcoming Marathi film 'Samhita - The Script'. The film, co-directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar, and produced by Subhash Ghai, has already won two National Awards this year and has also done very well in the festival circuits.
1x1 polls

Ask Sunil why did he choose Milind for his film, when his critics have panned him for his so-called wooden acting, and the director-lyricist replies, "Yeh dar hum logon ko bhi dikhaya gaya tha. Sumitra and I definitely chose him for his regal looks. But, this was not the only criterion. When we explained the script and his role to him, his reactions told us that he's a thinking actor. And we are really happy with the way his double role - as a royal during the British raj and later as a modern, sophisticated agriculturist in the contemporary era- has turned out. This film is about man-woman relationship and Milind has contributed a lot, along with other actors, to its substance."
And what does Milind have to say about his second Marathi outing, after Gandha? "I'm very happy with the way my role has turned out! It was great working with versatile actors like Devika Dafatardar, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Uttara Baokar. And the way I have been projected in the film, is really exciting, says he.
