Marathi actress Urmila Kothare's car accidentally hits metro workers in Mumbai; one killed

A car owned by Marathi actress Urmila Kothare hit two workers near Kandivali in Mumbai, killing one and seriously injuring the other. Both Kothare and her driver were also injured in the accident.

Urmila was returning from a film shoot when the accident took place near Poisar Metro station. The driver lost control of the car, hitting two Metro workers. One worker died at the scene, while the other was taken to a nearby hospital and is receiving treatment.

The police reported that the car was speeding when the accident occurred. They mentioned that Urmila Kothare avoided serious injuries thanks to the timely deployment of the car's airbags.

A case has been filed against the driver, and the police have started an investigation into the incident.

Urmila Kanetkar is a prominent figure in the Marathi film industry, known for her roles in hit films such as Duniyadaari, Shubhmangal Saavdhan, and Ti Sadhya Kay Karte.

She recently made a strong return to television with the popular show Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe, marking her comeback to the small screen after a 12-year break.

This accident comes just days after a tragic incident in Mumbai. On December 21, a six-year-old boy lost his life due to a neck injury caused by the airbag deployment after a car crash in Navi Mumbai. The boy, seated in the front, was fatally injured when the airbag inflated upon impact.
