Marathi actor and assistant director, Mandar Sanjay Kulkarni, 34 was arrested for allegedly molesting a 17-year-old girl on the pretext of her auditioning for an acting assignment. Reportedly, the actor forced minor to wear a bikini and molested her on the pretext of a photoshoot a month back. The minor has claimed that Kulkarni sexually harassed her by clicking her semi-nude photographs forcefully.
The girl was so traumatised that she only told her mother about it recently. The girl, her mother and advocates Chinmay Bhosale and Dhanashree Pawar, lodged an FIR with the Deccan Gymkhana police against Mandar Sanjay Kulkarni, 34, a resident of Shaniwar Peth. As per the complaint filed with the Deccan police, the accused and the victim know each other, and Kulkarni told her that he would recommend her name for a role in either a movie or a teleserial, for which she would have to give an audition.
According to police sources, the victim was asked to wear a bikini by the accused, who also photographed her. He then asked her to remove her clothes for another shoot, at which point, he allegedly molested her. The police have invoked different sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act , 2012 against the accused.
