Makers rename Jungjauhar to Pavankhind, set to release in June

In an interesting movie, makers of the most awaited historical movie

Jungjauhar

based on a historical incident, a battle of

Pavankhind

have been renamed to Pavankhind. On Saturday, the makers made an announcement of the new name. According to makers the title conveyed the essence of the film more properly.

The team also announced the release date of the movie. Planned last year due to lockdown the movie couldn't release last year, now the movie is set to release on June 10th this year.


Helmed by director Digpal Lanjekar, this is the third movie in the series of eight movies he has planned on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his army including unsung heroes. Earlier films include 'Farzand' and 'Fatteshikast'.

Recently on the eve of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj birth anniversary occasion of Chhatrpati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, Digpal had announced the fourth movie in the series 'Sher Shivraj Hai'. According to makers, the movie will be based on an incident where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal Khan near the foothills of Pratapgad. According to makers, Sher Shivraj Hai will not only focus on killing Afzal Khan but also based on unique war and psychological techniques Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj exhibited during the mission. This will also focus on different aspects of the Maratha warrior king. The pre-production work is about to complete and the movie will soon go on floor.

Lately there are many movies based on historical incidents being made in Marathi. Actor and director Pravin Tarde is also coming up with the movie 'Sarsenapati Hambirrao'. The movie is also ready and will be released later this year. Recently the poster of another period film Chhatrapati Tararani was also released.
