Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar bid adieu to the world on Wednesday. His death marks an end of era but he has left a indelible mark on his fans and loved ones.
Actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar remembers him not only as one of the finest actors of the Indian cinema but also as a a fantastic human being. “He was a very natural actor when acting used to be quite over the top.
He was an institution and he will continue to live through his amazing work,” says the Kaksparsh director, and adds, “I remember I had gone to his residence along with Sanju (
Sanjay Dutt) and
Sunil Dutt sahab, almost two decades ago. His tehzeeb and warmth left a lasting impression on me. I was not even well-known at that point but he made me feel very special at his home. He was an amazing host.”
Dilip Kumar began his Bollywood journey with Jwar Bhata in 1944. Through his illustrious career than spanned over 50 years, he gave several blockbusters and earned the title of Tragedy King.
