Konkan is a mysterious site to shoot, says Sagar Vanjari

Even before the film Redu released, the cinema bagged a few prestigious awards in its kitty. The story and most importantly, the locations have impressed the audiences. The film is based on rural areas of Konkan and describes old times before the technological advancements can be seen in the film. The scintillating settings are nothing but the Konkan region of Maharashtra.Talking about the locations of the film, director Sagar Vanjari says, “To shoot , we chose Konkan as a prime set-up. The film has been completely shot at Malvan katta (Malvan belt) but different places. When we were to shoot the film, we visited the whole of Konkan and I was mesmerised by its beauty. The place has a mysterious aura; something you wouldn’t understand at the first visit. We had to recce the complete place and that is when we finalised on Malvan patta for interior of the village, exterior were shot near Vaingani and so on. We found different places to shoot different scenes of the film in the same belt,” he adds.
