In the last six months, three Marathi films ��������� 'Ghulam Begum' 'Badshah', 'Vanshvel' and 'Jarab' and Bollywood films like 'Dedh Ishqiya' were shot in Nashik.
Is Nashik the new favourite for film shoots?
Nashik is gradually becoming a hot favourite with filmmakers. In the last six months, three Marathi films ��������� 'Ghulam Begum,' 'Badshah', 'Vanshvel' and 'Jarab' and Bollywood films like Dedh Ishqiya and Bullet Raja were shot in the city.
Filmmaker Prakash Jha who is looking for some new locations for his upcoming film Satyagraha is also considering shooting in Nashik.

Also, filmmaker Gajendra Ahire revealed that he was looking to shoot his next film in Nashik. We have also learnt that director Rohit Shetty recently scouted for locations in the city. In the past too filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker and Rahul Rawail who have shot for their respective films in the city are keen to pan the camera once again.
Jarab
This film starring Ankush Chaudhary wrapped up its shoot a while ago. The film has been shot at some prominent locations in the city. Director of the film Prakash Panchal said, ���������I have shot the film Fakta Saatvi Pass as well in Nashik. The city has a variety of locations to offer. However, I feel that the city needs better production controllers in order to tackle the situations that arise while shooting in the main city area.���������
Gulam Begum Badshah
A major portion of this film starring Bharat Jadhav, Sanjay Narvekar and Neha Pendse was shot in Nashik. The makers explored the malls in the city along with the Deolali Camp area. Director Rajiv Firke said, ���������After Mumbai and Pune, the focus is shifting towards Nashik. The look of the city is so diverse that it can be presented as a small town as well as a metro.���������
Vanshvel
The film directed by filmmaker Rajiv Patil was shot in various places in and around the city. The songs of the film were shot in Trimbakeshwar area at the foot of Brahmagiri. Rajiv said, ���������I have shot four films in Nashik. Recently when a few industry people saw the song of my upcoming film Vanshvel shot in the Trimbakeshwar area, they thought it was a hill station. This is the birth place of the Father of Indian Cinema Dadasaheb Phalke, the whole city could be declared as a studio. The municipal corporation should maintain the city properly so that more filmmakers are attracted.���������
Bullet Raja
Saif Ali Khan, Vidyut Jammwal, Ravi Kishen and Sonakshi Sinha recently shot at Godavari Ghat. Some portions of the film were also shot at the Central Jail. After wrapping up the schedule in Nashik, the final schedule was to be concluded in Mumbai. However, on Saif���������s insistence, the makers shot the last schedule in Nashik. Producer Rahul Mittra said, ���������Nashik is very pleasant and hasn���������t been explored enough by the filmmakers. It will bring freshness to the film.���������
Dedh Ishqiya
A small part of this Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah-starrer was shot on Sinnar Ghoti Road. Location coordinator and line producer from Nashik, Amit Kulkarni said, ���������They wanted to shoot a sequence on the highway. We sent them a few location options and they liked it. The locations in Mumbai are over-exposed and hence they want new locations.���������
