Actor Anuja Sathe, who is a part of the city-based Kalavant Dhol Tasha Pathak, was looking forward to performing on Ganesh Chaturthi. However, the actress recently shared on social media that she was diagnosed with viral arthritis.
Expressing that she is a bit disheartened for not being able to play the dhol today, Anuja says, “I have been playing dhol-tasha since I was 12. Ganeshotsav is something I eagerly await every year. Unfortunately, I don’t think I have the strength to pull off a dhol-tasha performance this time and will have to give it a miss, at least on the first day.” She says that she hopes to recover full and be able to perform on Anant Chaturdashi, the final day of the festival.
The 'Ek Thi Begum' actress adds, “Viral arthritis causes significant joint pain. Since both my in-laws are doctors, I have been well taken care of. As far as work is concerned, I am relieved that none of my shoots were scheduled during this time.”
