Children should be encouraged to do something special in life: Gauri Gadgil

A Down syndrome child went on to win the Silver Medal twice at the Special Olympics. She became an inspiration for many people including the biggies of Bollywood and the Marathi film industry. A film 'Yellow' was made based on her story; she acted in the film and won Special Jury mention at National Awards this year.
This is the story of 23-year-old Gauri Gadgil who is happy to get all the appreciation she has been receiving.Her mother Sneha Shekhar Gadgil told us, ���Gauri is very happy as all children love to be appreciated. For the last one one month she has been getting a lot of appreciation for her work and winning the National Award has encouraged her further to do something even bigger in life.��� This young girl from Pune is busy accepting wishes from all her family and friends for her achievement. Her mother said, ���Gauri has been telling everyone that encouragement is very important for children to help them do special things in life.��� Gauri had once told us that ���Yellow��� need not be her last film and she thoroughly enjoyed acting and wishes to continue with it. Her mother said, ���She has some really big plans but a lot depends on how she picks up things. She wants to become a swimming coach and now she also plans to act. Let���s see how things work out. For now she is just very happy.���
