Film Dagdi Chawl gets a sequel

Up until a few years ago, the Marathi industry hardly had any sequels to boast of. However, the trend has picked up and the latest film to get a sequel is Dagdi Chaawl.
The film, which met with success upon its release in 2015, featured Ankush Chaudhary, Pooja Sawant and Makarand Deshpande, and was directed by Chandrakant Kanse. Inspired by the life of Arun Gawli, it derives its name from the place where he stayed in Mumbai.While the cast of the sequel, titled Dagdi Chaawl 2, is yet to be announced, the makers have retained the director for the sequel. Details of the story have also been kept under wraps as of now. Meanwhile the makers have released the teaser (logo) of the film.
