Friends and family of the beloved veteran actress Shashikala have been expressing their grief since then and among them is
Marathi
cinema's popular actress
Alka Kubal, who made her Marathi debut with Shashikala in 'Lek Chalali Sasarla' (1984).
Expressing her grief, Alka Kubal said "'Lek Chalali Sasarla' was my first Marathi film which was released in 1984. Shashikala was also part of several
Hindi
films during the '80s and we used to admire her works. I was very happy when we came to know that Shashikala was also part of this film. She was playing an antagonist character in the film but she was very glamorous and graceful"
"Apart from doing films, she was also doing social works. I was very amazed when I heard this. Because people in this age think retirement but she working for people's welfare. I think it's a very big loss for the film industry" she added.
