Director Abhijeet Deshpande talks about Ani…Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar

Ani…Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar has been attracting audiences for its right reasons and not just the actor but also the director is being appreciated for his debut. After working in films like Wazir, Table No. 21 and Shaitaan, Abhijeet Deshpande is debuting with the film Ani…Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar. From the array iconic Marathi stars, Abhijeet chose to bring Dr. Ghanekar's life in the forefront. Abhijeet Deshpande started this project six years ago and finally takes off.

With the movie releasing this week, he says, “I have looked up to Dr. Ghanekar's life as an inspiration. Although, his life sketch was complex and dramatic, I was fascinated by his personality. He brought a new era into the Marathi industry altogether and shifted viewers outlook/ perception from class to mass. It has been an experience of a lifetime to recreate his persona onscreen.’’

The biopic of Marathi theatre’s first superstar Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar starring Subodh Bhave, Sumeet Raghavan, and Sonali Kulkarni and is directed by Abhijeet Deshpande. The movie is slated to release on November 8 across Maharashtra.
