Oscar-nominated director Deepa Mehta has sparked rumours of a possible project with Marathi cinema after being floored by one of the recent releases from the industry. Fueling these speculations, the internationally recognised film-maker heaped praise on
Chaitanya Tamhane's 'Court' through her micro-blogging website and went all the way to rank it among her favourites. She said,"Pure delight in the brilliant Marathi film

Along with other Marathi movies like 'Killa' by Avinash Arun and 'Elizabeth Ekadashi' by Paresh Mokashi, 'Court' was well-received by the audiences and critics alike at the recently concluded International Film Festival at Pune. The Indo-Canadian film director Mehta is most known for her Elements Trilogy: 'Fire,' 'Earth' and 'Water.' Her last release was the film adaptation of Salman Rushdie's novel Midnight's Children while her upcoming 'Beeba Boys' is in post-production.
