While director Chaitanya Tamhane is preparing for the theatrical release of his multiple-award winning ���Court,��� the movie became a part of the New Directors - New Films Festival in New York as well. This festival is organized by Museum of Modern Arts (MOMA) and screens only debut directors��� movies. The festival has previously showcased debut films of modern-day greats like
Steven Spielberg,
Christopher Nolan and
Richard Linklater, according to marathistars.com.
Previously Ashim Ahluwalia���s full-length documentary ���John and Jane��� was also screened at this festival. The festival has organized two shows for 'Court' with a seating capacity of 175 people.
The film, which throws light on the routine activities local court in the country, features Vivek Gombar, Vira Sathidar, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Pradeep Joshi, Usha Bane and Shirish Pawar in important roles. It has bagged close to 20 awards across 30-odd film festivals.
���Court��� is set to hit the big screens in Maharashtra on April 17 and will also be part of South Korea Film Festival, San Francisco Film Festival and Istanbul Film Festival.
