The upcoming Marathi film 'Bioscope' will be a first of many sorts. While it will be the first Marathi film to incorporate four short films into making a full length feature, the shorts will be based on four poems by well-known poets.
However if the original story on which 'Mitraa' ��������� one of the four films is based on ��������� is anything to go by, the Marathi audience will see a same-sex pairing onscreen for the first time.

The film is based on poet and lyricist Sandip Khare���������s poem 'Atasha nakose vatate mala he' and Vijay Tendulkar���������s story and three-act play 'Mitrachi Goshta'.
'Mitrachi Goshta' talks about the time when plays had people of the same gender portraying male as well as female characters, and focuses on the same-sex relationship between two women, Mitra and Nama. Asked about her role in the film, actress Veena Jamkar, without divulging any details, said, ���������You will soon know about it.���������
The makers are not divulging any details about the film at the moment but going by the story it is based on, we might expect a surprise for the Marathi audience soon. The film will have actresses Mrunmayee Deshpande and Veena Jamkar playing lead roles along with Sandip, who will make his silver screen debut with this film. ���������I used to act in plays but had never got a chance to act on screen. Ravi asked me to do a part in the film during a narration of the poem and I agreed to do it,��������� said Sandip. When asked more about the film he said, ���������It is based on Vijay Tendulkar���������s story and my poem. That���������s all I can say at the moment.���������
